FAQ

Everything worth knowing before it hangs on your wall.

The Craft How every piece is made, by hand, from the first brushstroke to the last.
Are your paintings really hand-painted?

Yes—every Manenchi piece is painted by hand in acrylic on canvas by skilled artists. Never prints, never machine reproductions. Look closely and you'll see the raised texture of individual brushstrokes and palette-knife work that only a human hand can create.

Are your paints safe and eco-conscious?

Yes. Our artists work with premium water-based acrylic paints—low-odour, low-VOC, and free from the harsh solvents that traditional oil painting requires. It means art that's safe for your home and family, made with materials we're proud to stand behind.

Will my painting look exactly like the photograph?

Each canvas is painted individually, so yours will be a faithful rendering of the piece you see—carrying the subtle, natural variations that make hand-painted art one of a kind. No two paintings are ever perfectly identical, and we consider that part of their character and their value.

How are Manenchi paintings made?

Every piece is painted to order, just for you. From the first brushstroke to the final detail, we share photos and videos at every stage so you can follow your painting as it comes to life. And here's what sets us apart: the process isn't finished when the artist thinks it's done—it's finished when you're happy. Your approval is the final brushstroke.

Who designs the paintings?

Some begin with us—colour palettes, compositions, and moods we develop before collaborating with artists who bring them to life. Others are original works by talented painters we discover and proudly curate. Either way, every piece is chosen against the same standard of presence and craftsmanship.

Where are your paintings made?

Manenchi is an Australian brand. Our designs are developed here and hand-painted by our skilled partner artists in their overseas studios, then delivered directly to your door.

Delivery & Customs What to expect from our studio to your door, anywhere in the world.
How long will my painting take to arrive?

Because each piece is painted by hand for you, please allow around two weeks for your artwork to be created, followed by 8–12 days for express air delivery. Most orders arrive within about three to four weeks in total. We'll keep you updated at each stage and send tracking once your piece ships.

Where do you ship, and what does it cost?

We offer complimentary shipping worldwide on every order—no minimums, and no surprises at checkout, wherever you are.

Will I be charged customs or import duties on delivery?

Never. We don't want you wrestling with customs forms, clearance, or unexpected fees at your door—we want you simply opening your door to a beautiful painting. That's exactly why we ship on a fully delivered basis (DDP): every duty and tax is handled and paid before your artwork reaches you. The price you see is the price you pay, and your only job is deciding where to hang it.

How is my painting packaged?

All Manenchi artworks are carefully packaged before they leave our studio, using the method best suited to how your piece is finished.

Rolled in a protective tube (Rolled Canvas) — Unframed canvases ship rolled inside a rigid, high-quality tube. It's the safest way to move a large canvas internationally, and it keeps shipping costs — and your final price — down. Once it arrives, we recommend taking it directly to your local framer to professionally unroll and stretch your canvas onto wooden bars or have it framed.

Boxed flat (Gallery Wrapped & smaller framed pieces) — Gallery-wrapped canvases and framed pieces up to our standard sizes ship flat inside a reinforced cardboard box, cushioned with ample internal padding so the piece can't shift in transit. It's a snug, purpose-built fit, not just bubble wrap dropped into a box.

Custom wooden crate (larger framed pieces) — Our largest framed pieces travel in a custom-built wooden crate, sized and braced specifically for that artwork. Every crate is tightly sealed and packed to our own standard for international freight, so scale never comes at the cost of protection.

Whichever way your piece travels, it's handled in our workshop with the same care it will get in your home.

Care & Assurance How we protect your piece, and what happens if something goes wrong.
What if my painting arrives damaged?

In the rare event your painting arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery with a few photographs. We'll take care of everything—remaking your piece from scratch and re-shipping a fresh painting to you at no cost.

What is your returns policy?

We want you to love your piece. In-stock works may be returned within 30 days of delivery in their original condition; for change-of-mind returns, return shipping to our Australian warehouse and any associated charges are the buyer's responsibility. Custom and commissioned pieces—any artwork created or adapted specifically to your taste—are made uniquely for you and cannot be returned, unless they arrive damaged or defective.

How do I care for your paintings?

Keep yours out of direct sunlight and away from damp or high-humidity rooms—both can affect the paint over time. To clean, simply dust with a soft, dry cloth; avoid water, solvents, or household cleaners on the painted surface.
