Built upon the contrast between vast white texture and tiny bursts of colour, Alpine Slalom Descent sends a dozen skiers carving an S-shaped line down a mountain of sculpted snow. Their red, green and blue jackets flicker across an expanse of pure white, bringing energy and a lodge-like warmth to a room.
The Artwork
The whole slope is built in thick, sweeping white — a field of drifts and ridges that curves the eye downhill in one continuous run. Against it, the small figures on blue skis read as unmistakable skiers mid-turn, casting soft directional shadows on the snow. The effect is bright, kinetic and alpine, calm in palette yet full of movement.
Handcrafted Texture
The snow is raised by hand in generous palette-knife impasto across premium cotton canvas, each drift built in ridges of professional-grade acrylics and sealed in protective varnish once cured. As daylight moves across the room, the thick white crests catch highlights and drop soft shadows, giving the slope a living, sculptural depth.
